WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Mayor Oliver Gilbert, III of Miami Gardens, FL and President of the African American Mayors Association (AAMA), released the following statement about hosting Super Bowl LIV in 2020:

“The city of Miami Gardens is honored to host Super Bowl LIV in 2020 and share the city’s vibrant multiculturalism, music, natural beauty and history with the world. This marks the 11th Super Bowl to be held in South Florida and the sixth to be played at the stadium. The city boasts hundreds of small businesses, and nearly 70,000 workers are employed within the city limits. I am proud to see the economic potential an event of this magnitude will bring to the city I love. Forthcoming infrastructure investments will allow our communities to thrive in the months leading up to, and the years following, Super Bowl LIV. We are excited for the world to experience The Magic City.”
