Destiny Daniel currently serves as an Intern for the African American Mayors Association (AAMA). Before joining AAMA, Destiny has worked and interned at many nonprofits, from the United Nations Association to the Society for International Development-United States. In these organizations, she has undertaken social media, event and logistical tasks, special projects, and research. She is currently pursuing her B.A. in public relations with minors in community development and maternal and child health. During her time at Howard University, Destiny has served on over 8 executive boards, with her favorite being President of the Zeta Phi Chapter of Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity and as an SGA Senator. In these roles, Destiny was able to execute large scale educational and service programming, while implementing legislation to improve the student experience. Destiny has a tireless devotion to service that ignited as a child within a local nonprofit. She hopes to pursue a masters degree in nonprofit management, and continue as a servant leader.

Hailing from the great city of West Memphis, Arkansas, Spencer M. Jones is an Urban Studies & Public Policy scholar at Dillard University, Louisiana’s first Historically Black University located in New Orleans. Spencer has explored various avenues of involvement and leadership throughout his matriculation at Dillard, most notably currently serving as the 17th Mister Dillard University. Spencer has also interned for the Democratic National Committee, the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, the U.S. House of Representatives, the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals of Louisiana, and more.

Growing up, Spencer cultivated a passion for Black leadership in government politics, and this has led him to devote his life to advocating for underserved and underrepresented communities through public policy and law. Upon his graduation, Spencer plans to further his education by pursuing a dual Juris Doctorate and a masters in public policy. Following successful completion, Spencer plans to enact change in his community through local, state, and national government. In his career, he plans to continuously advocate for marginalized communities and HBCUs in hopes of being a future HBCU President, eventually running for public office.

Monica Saddique is a graduating senior at Clark Atlanta University, hailing from Jacksonville, Florida. While matriculating at Clark Atlanta, Ms. Saddique has been involved in several organizations giving back to her community. She recently represented her institution at Martin

Luther King Jr’s Observance Day on Fox 5 News. Prior to working with African American Mayors Association, Monica Saddique serves as a Civic Leader with Hands On Atlanta where she engages in youth enrichment projects biweekly, working with children K – 5th. After obtaining her B.A in Business Administration, concentrating in International Business Management, Ms. Saddique’s passion is to work in foreign services, diplomacy and international law. Her aspirations are to become an International Human Rights Attorney where she will be able to defend global civilians that are abused, neglected and exploited by corrupt governments. Her main focuses are equitable education and environmental sustainability. Ms.Saddique is eager to spread her light and joy to AAMA and inspire young girls around.
